9. The chairman of the committee writes a press release and runs it past license-discuss, who has a chance to add their (possibly negative) input. It then gets posted to opensource.org’s news page. The idea is to improve transparency and coordination, and to allow the community to be heard rather than feeling like they’re being swept under the rug.
